New Podcast Series – Unmasked: Shades of Women During COVID-19
NCCWN Limerick Women’s Network were delighted to launch a new podcast series on International Women’s Day called Unmasked: Shades of Women During COVID-19 where Limerick women share their experiences of life during a pandemic through short stories. The online event included live readings along with a panel discussion with the authors, Creative Writing Specialist, Sheila Quealey and Edel Geraghty of the Limerick Women’s Network.
The journey to the podcast started in July 2020 when Limerick Women’s Network joined with Creative Writing Specialist, Sheila Quealey, to facilitate a group of women to explore and write about their experiences during COVID-19. This process took place over a five-month period, meeting each week for two hours on Zoom. The sessions resulted in raw, honest and inspiring stories told by courageous women, who were willing to impart them to the big wide world. The stories cover serious and real life issues such as: addiction, domestic violence, self-harm and suicide.
The stories presented in the Unmasked: Shades of Women During COVID-19 podcast:
Internet 101 by Susan Williams
Unseen by Noelene Nash
At Sixes and Sevens by Eileen Buckley
A New Routine by Mary Lyons
